Aji Amie Ceesay is the Founder and Managing Director of Blackwood Global IP Ltd and a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of The Gambia, with almost a decade of experience in industrial property, commercial law, and regulatory advisory across West Africa.
She leads the firm's regional intellectual property practice covering The Gambia, Sierra Leone, and Liberia, advising local and international clients on trademark, patent, utility model, industrial design, and ARIPO-related matters.
Her practice focuses on intellectual property prosecution, portfolio management, enforcement strategy, and cross-border brand protection for multinational corporations, foreign law firms, and rights holders operating in emerging African markets.

She regularly advises foreign counsel and international brand owners on navigating the procedural and operational realities of IP protection in developing jurisdictions, including registry backlogs, enforcement considerations, and regional filing strategies.
Ms. Ceesay holds an LLB (Hons) from BPP University, London, and was called to the Gambian Bar after completing professional legal training at the Gambia Law School.
She regularly contributes to regional intellectual property discourse through conferences, panels, and policy initiatives relating to innovation, brand protection, and emerging IP systems in Africa.
